VA Benefits

questions & answers

Question: I am interested in suing a school I attended for not upholding their refund policy. Because they neglected to refund an overpayment and process proper paperwork during my PCS, I now have two collections on my credit report, my credit dropped 104 points and my wages will be garnished. I did not terminated the couse I was taking at any time. I transferred from one campus to another because of my orders. I did not at any time miss classes. I have been trying to resolve the issue since July of 2014. I have documents to support everything I have said. Can I file a lawsuit against the school?

Answer: You may want to try contacting a lawyer to see how good your case may be. Sometimes it will depend on how much money was involved and how much you are seeking. Our LawforVeterans website has information about education benefits and what you can do to obtain a consultation for an attorney. We have some attorneys that will give you a one hour free consultation to assist you with things such as VA benefits, school loans, etc. You can contact us at 866-637-5341, go to www.lawforveterans.org or go to http://www.azlawhelp.org/accesstojustice/
