  • I have had my brother in law and his wife here at my residence that I am renting for seven months. They were told repeated times to start paying a specific amount of money a month and ignored my requests. They chose not to sign a written agreement and still refuse to pay. They are not on the lease either. I want to know if I have grounds to give them a 5 or 30 day notice to vacate. And if I can mail it, as they are staying with someone else for a couple months, or if I have to hand it to them personally. Thank you
  • Hi I recently moved into a rental home and things are continuously going wrong. We went without A/C for 4 days before it was fixed, the electrical sockets in the bathroom go on and off continuously on their own for days at a time and we have a toilet that leaks. At what point can we terminate a lease and still get our security deposit back? The landlord expects these things to be fixed by us first then her then a professional. I know nothing about electrical things so now its her turn to look before a professional each time takes days-weeks to fix.

  • I didn't pay rent this month due to the landlord not fixing anything within the last six months. I decided to move since they are not fixing anything. Can the landlord lock my possesions in the house or do they have to give me a notice first?
  • My mother rented a place on a month to month basis, signed a lease, paid a $600 deposit, and was asked to give a 30 day notice when she planned to move out. She moved in 11/1/2017. On 11/14 she went to the ER and was admitted to the hospital because we found out she had a spinal cord tumor. On 11/20 she transferred to inpatient Hospice and died there on 11/22. Her things were moved out and the place was immaculately cleaned on 11/26. Her landlady knew she wouldn't be returning as early as 11/18. Is she obligated to return the full $600 deposit even though a 30 day notice wasn't given?
  • I am asking in reference to my father who is living alone and has parkinsons and diabetes we need to put him in a home or assisant living. How would we go through that he is a danger to others and needs urgent care.
  • My son just turned 18. He should be entering his senior year in high school so the court papers say I pay child support until he is out of school or 19 years old. He quit school and was supposed to get his GED. He has not nor does it look like he ever will. “Until 19” clause was there to ensure support through high school.   • I was given a class 6 undesignated felony charge in 2008. Upon completion of my probation it was reduced to a misdemeanor by the court. Were my civil rights taken from me? Were they restored automatically when I completed probation? Can I own a firearm?
