  • My mother recently passed away while on hospice care. I did not have pre-arrangements made. Hospice offered to arrange services with the least expensive local funeral home. Since this is hospice' area of expertise, I agreed. This funeral home charged nearly twice what the other two businesses in the area charge. This company also was not the coroner designated on call mortuary for this particular month? I feel this is a scam, what can I do?
  • My girlfriend is renting a property from a family friend,who claims she is renting for her mother.The property is co -owned by another person who is unaware of the property being rented out.The mother passed away and the family friend is evicting my girlfriend for nonpayment of rent.Until the family friend provides proof of ownership.Should my girlfriend try and establish contact with the other owner?So,he is aware of his property being rented out without his knowing.
  • If I believe my tenants have skipped and they are not claiming certifiied mail which is sent to them at the property address, may we enter the property after posting to the front of the residence the 48Hr Notice to Enter and Inspect? This notice was mailed first class and Certified mail return receipt along with being posted . This action was outlined in the tenants Residental Lease Agreement for us to have the right to inspect after giving notice. Are we safe to enter?
  • I moved into a house 7 days ago and informed the landlord that the toilet was clogged, dryer didn’t work, shower broken, refrigerator broken and some other various things. I have lost hundreds of dollars worth of food. I have been buying dry ice. He said he is purchasing a new one today but won’t reimburse me for it. I paid a $1400 deposit and $1400 rent. What can I do. I have children living with me and no money to buy more food or coolers.
  • My husband had what was deemed by a Dr. at Mayo as necessary surgery in 2008. All insurance info was provided and they knew he was Medicare. No one said a word about the possibility of no coverage. Now, 3 yrs. later, medicare has said they won't pay the claim and Mayo has said we owe $10,000 which would be impossible to pay since we are on SS and pension. Had we been told that at the outset, we would not have proceeded with the surgery. Wasn't it Mayo's responsibilty at the time to check out if they would get paid? How do we get this debt dismissed?

  • I am renting a house and the lease states renters are responsible for "yard maintenance." A storm broke 3 large branches on a tree in the backyard, one of which is laying on the patio canopy. The landlord said "I am responsible for yard maintenance. They will pay for any damages." I believe a tree nearly destroyed by a storm is different than yard maintenance and the landlord should have the branches removed and make the determination as to whether the tree should also be removed. Is it legal for them to force the cost of this clean up and potential tree removal on me?
  • I had an affair wth the man guy who wasnt running the housing authority before and I was 8 and 9 on the housing list now that he is now running the place and to do personal issues wth me he moved my housing up to 99 so I had to eventually had to leave Williams I kept all paperwork updated I was given an excuse and told on personal call I'd never get it so what can I do I feel threatened and dont know what to do and I'm on disability
  • We have received numerous noise complaints. We addressed the issue multiple times. It was determined that the flooring was poor and that the plumbing in our apartment was broken (causes a loud banging anytime water is turned on). Leasing staff entered our apt. without permission and stated they discovered these things. We thought they found the source of the noise and would figure out a solution. Yesterday we received another 10 day noise complaint. My roommates and I are afraid of eviction and we aren't sure what the next steps should be.
  • A court signed an Injunction Against Harrassment to protect me from my ex-boyfriend but I cannot afford to pay a process server to have the injunction served on him.  He is still harrassing me but leaves before the police arrive.  What should I do?
