  • My husband abandoned me knowing i had no means of paying any bills because I am disabled and currently waiting approval of my benefits. Due to my disability, i can not work and therefore i can not pay mrent. I have exhaustrd.all my resources. I am very behind on rent, but I have been making payments towards the past due rent whenever I was able to and these payments were accepted. Now my landlord wants to evict me. He knows i am disabled and waiting for benefits. I was told i couldn't be evicted if my disability was the reason I couldn't pay rent, which is my case. Is this true?

  • I rented a house from my brother and sister in-law a few years ago, without a written rental agreement. Over the course of the rental period I mentioned to my brother to purchase a home waranty for the three properties that they own, including the one that I was in. At the time of rental, they were a happily married couple and since that time, they have separated. I am moving out of their home and purchasing my own home. Now my sister in law wants me to pay the cost of replacing a shower due to water damage in the walls. Am I liable?

Today we returned to the bank to withdraw $5K to cover her expenses. They said that they did not have the POA on file and need to submit to legal again. A note on the acct from Feb 2016 states that she (MIL) wants to make sure 'nobody' can touch her money. As such, the bank now DECLINED the POA. Can they?
