My son passed away June 17, 2016, he was 32 years old. He had never married and had no children. His only asset is a checking account at our local credit union. He had no co owner on the account and did not set up a beneficary. We believe there is under $2000 in the account and would like to close it out and just donate the funds. Since he had no Will and we do not have the money to open probate, is there any other option for us?

The air conditioning in my house went out. I am currently renting. We notified our property management and they sent someone out the next day. The ac company said they cant fix it for a week. Our property management told us to find somewhere else to stay. Is there a law that they have to pay for us to stay in a hotel? And is there a law stating that we can deduct money from rent from each day that we are not staying in the house? And if so then how much? Thank you.

We live in a senior residence (my partner is 58) and they have a "chiller" system, in addition, they pay all utilities. Tonight (at approximately 9:30pm) we returned to our 2nd floor apartment which had risen to 80 degrees F (from 75). We both suffer from allergies which makes opening windows problematic (I have an inhaler as well) as well as hypertension. My blood pressure elevated from the hot temperature. I know at some point they change from an A/C based system to a heating system. What are our rights in this situation?
