  • The air conditioning in my house went out. I am currently renting. We notified our property management and they sent someone out the next day. The ac company said they cant fix it for a week. Our property management told us to find somewhere else to stay. Is there a law that they have to pay for us to stay in a hotel? And is there a law stating that we can deduct money from rent from each day that we are not staying in the house? And if so then how much? Thank you.
  • I have been evicted from my apartment, and I have to be out on the 26th of this month ( March 26,2014). I don't have no place to take my stuff. My question is, by law does the landlord have to store my belongings for a certain number of days until I pick them up?
  • What can I do if I feel my 9 year old is not being properly cared for in the other parent's home that I currently share joint custody with? For example, most recently the other parent left our child at a nearby apartment complex pool with another 9 year old completely alone and unsupervised or accompanied by any other adult (the kids were the only ones there) for over an hour while the other parent allegedly walked to a gas station to purchase alcohol. My child also complains that the other parent is using drugs in front of him. Is this considered neglect and what are my options?

  • How long do I have to sue my ex landlord?
  • My ex stole my dog. I adopted her while we were dating, her adoption paperwork is in my name ONLY. We have since broken up, and he took her without my permission and will not return her. One cop said it's theft of personal property, but suggested trying to deal with it directly with my ex first, then follow up if she wasn't returned. I followed up and the next cop I talked to said it's not theft of personal property because I adopted her while in the relationship with my ex, and the adoption paper doesn't matter even if my ex and I were never married so it's not a criminal issue. Is this true?
