Question: i am divorced, and have just found out that my ex, has enlisted in the military. he has custody of my daughter, and i have a visitation order. he wants to give the child to his mother when he gets out of basic, i now live in ohio, and need to know how to change the custody orders.
Answer:
The court system refers to a change of custudy orders as a "modification" of child custody.
Please see the article, Things You Should Know about Custody and Parenting Time, specifically the section entitled "How can a court’s custody order be changed?" for more information.
If you are in Maricopa Couty you may also want to visit the Superior Court's webpage which lists the specific documents that you will need to modify child support for that jurisdiction. This information is listed under the section titled "I need to modify child custody or parenting time. What do I do?"
