QUESTIONS

  • We found out that ants our living in our walls. The property manager say's it is our responsibility to take care of all pest related issues for the mobile home we rent. If they are living in wall and we keep spraying, but they keep coming in is it really our responsibility to hire a pest control company to rid the home of ants in the walls?

My two oldest children's fathers pay child support well one does other hasn't and don't. My oldest child father is involved but my 2nd child father hasn't called, hasn't seen her, nothing in like 6 years (she doesn't want to see him). All children live with me and my fiance. • If your home goes to foreclosure, how may years do you have to wait before you can buy a home again?
  • I own a mobile home but rent the land it sits on (in a park). Monthly, the landlord sends a bill that includes a base rent, charges for electricity, water use, and sewer. It also includes a "rent tax." I'm unsure what this rent tax is and whethere he should be paying it or I should. There is also a "service charge" of $10 on the monthly electric portion, which I think is a reading fee (a man who lives here reads the meters). Are these last two charges legitimate?
  • Our lease has no provision in regarding pest control and landlord being able to charge for pest control services if infestation is found. Our landlord is trying to do this to residents who are mostly SMI or disabled who only means is a monthly check and being on sec 8 or home inc. They don't understand they have rights and are afraid of being evicted as this is what they've been told. I know Residents whohave requested pest service and not received due to not being put on list for service and apts that have bug problems or infestations are being rented then tenants blamed for. What can we do

  • I was awareded sole custody, my children are out of state with their father for visitation and he is refusing to return them. What actions should I take? Can I call the police where he lives or am I allowed to go pick them up if I'm able to travel?
  • My landlord turned off the heat to the entire apt complex a week ago, and stated that it can't be turned back on. It is reasonable to presume that without heat, the temperature inside the residing units will be comparable to outside. I tried to submit, in writing, a letter requesting that by purchasing an adequate heater to heat my unit during this time, I may apply the amount spent on the heater, with proof of receipt, to be deducted from my rent for the month of March, 2015. I cited 33-1324 and 33-1364 in the letter. The landlord denied the request. How enforceable is my principle?
