QUESTIONS

  • I moved out of a rental home on 10/16/15 but was made to pay for the entire month of October. Did the 14 days for returning my deposit start on 10/16 or 10/31? Also, 14 days since both days has passed and I'd like to file a claim in Small Claims Court but I moved out of state. Are there options for out of state former tenants or must I travel back to Arizona? Thank you.
  • We live in a senior residence (my partner is 58) and they have a "chiller" system, in addition, they pay all utilities. Tonight (at approximately 9:30pm) we returned to our 2nd floor apartment which had risen to 80 degrees F (from 75). We both suffer from allergies which makes opening windows problematic (I have an inhaler as well) as well as hypertension. My blood pressure elevated from the hot temperature. I know at some point they change from an A/C based system to a heating system. What are our rights in this situation?
  • we were approved for a car loan by a local bank. Explained that the vehicle was in our home state and that we knew the owner. Personal banker explained this on the phone. And then the bank changed its mind and said to buy a vehicle in Az. Needless to say as seniors with good credit we were very upset. Filed a complaint withCFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau). Told we could hire an attorney but am finding difficulty. Don't know what kind of attorney or if we have a case.
  • My husband has alheimers & dementia, and although we have lived separately I am concerned that our daughter is taking money from him without him remembering. He just had 3 stints put in his heart, and I am concerned that her financial abuse will deplete our cash reserve so that I cannot afford to take care of his needs. What can I do to get guardianship of him?
  • My wife is an adopted child, does that give my mother in law any rights? We currently have a 17 mo. old child together and are getting the finalization of a nasty divorce. The woman dislikes me and I feel she will negatively inflence my daughter.
  • My husband and I gave Temp Guardianship and then Guardianship after 2 years to his mother. The years were from 2000-2004 that she had our children. Since June 2004 the children have lived with me. That was Almost 10 years ago. Almost 5 years ago she passed away. At least 7 of the 10 years she has not complied with the court yearly. I want to know since my childrens father and I consented to the guardianship in the first place. Once his mom passed, would the children fall back to us? If not I need to know what papers I should file to say I'm back and I have the children? thanks so much

  • I agreed to purchase a home I believed was owned free and clear by the owner with owner financing. I later learned the owner did not own the home free and clear, and when costly repairs come up he refused to help defray the costs. Was I protected under the tenant landlord act and can he foreclose as he is threatening? I have already moved out and found a new place to live.
