QUESTIONS

  • I am a student and my father and I own a house in Tempe. We are both on the Deed and hold title as Joint Tenancy with Right of Survivorship. I rented a room to a tenant and she and I were the only parties who signed the lease agreement. However, when she moved out, my father signed the move-out letter because she had secured a Restrainer Order against me (I had secured one against her too) so we were to have no contact of any kind with one another. She alleges that the Move Out Letter is invalid since my dad wrote it, signed it and emailed it to her oppose to myself. Is that true?
  • what can &/or cant a previous/current landlord tell/say about a tenant to a possible future landlord ?
  • If the father is out of work, behind on child support and does not have a vehicle, does this effect his rights to decisions and time with the child, of 4 years of age?

Was that right for her to tell me that
  • We live in Tucson, AZ, and my husband is going to file a divorce paper. We married in South Lake Tahoe, Ca. We have been married for 23 years. We both are not working, but he has a girlfriend during our marriage and she is working.  My question is he told me he doesn't need to pay me his social security or any spousal support due to he doesn't work. Also since he bought the house before our marriage which we are living now. In my marriage, this house all the repair, utility, property tax are from our joint account. Now he told me I have no right to this house. It is true what he told me.
  • My husband was incarcerated for 15 years. my daughter is now 19, he is in massachusetts, I reside in Arizona with our daughter. He is now on disability, but doesn;t send us money. I want to go after him for back child support as I have health issues too and still supporting our daughter alone. Do I have rights and will someone help me?
  • do i need the permission of both parents to obtain guardianship? what if i cant find one of the parents but the other gives consent?
  • my apartment complex has all expired fire extinguishers. are they in violation?
  • I am renting a room in a house. The landlord has not given me a signed copy of the lease/agreement. The landlord does not give me a rent receipt. I have been living here for about 8 months, sending/mailing the landlord checks regularly. Now, the landlord is asking me to give a detailed breakdown of rent/checks paid ad the associated dates in a specific format. I have done the best I can. The landlord has been sending me multiple messages regarding this over the weekend. Isn't this the landlords job, to keep track of the rent/checks paid. I feel the landlord treats me differently versus others.
  • Our 12 yr old grandson in NY has been in foster care for almost 2 years and the Child Protection department has filed for termination of parental rights against our daughter. We are grandparents living in AZ and have filed in NY a petition for custody against our daughter. I believe we filed for custody of our grandson against his mother prior to the petition for parental rights termination. Must the judge hear our custody petition first? If the court rules in our favor and gives us custody of our grandson will his placement with us be governed by the ICPC or will we be considered an exception? We cannot afford an attorney and NY will not appoint an attorney for us since we do not reside in NY.
