I submitted an application to Community Legal Services, yesterday, for Cody Mohr. What is the next step? I attempted to call the Central office today. I was on hold and had only one person ahead of me, then the hour passed and they hung up, as they stated they would. I can try again tomorrow. Should Cody and I go down to their office. Would he be able to find out when he might get to talk to someone about free legal help? Please advise. Cody's daughter is very bright should not have been held back in 1st grade. Recently in my apartment the refrigerator went out andwas repaired by a repair man the manager sent over and the repairman stated that for me to write out a list of food that was lost and take to the office.this was done and I also sign the paper stating that this in fact did happen.the manager stated that under normal situation the landlord is not responsible for the food that was lost,but because the repairman stated that he would make sure I would get paid for food lost.I would have to take this up with my insurance (Renter's insurance) about $75-100 worth of groceries.The manager has offered to deduct $75 dollars off of rent for the following month,and i agreed to this. The question is am I to be responsible for food that was lost ,when the appliance came with the apartment?this is not the first time this has happen to me.should I contact my insurance company regarding this issue?

I have been living in my rental house for 7 months. The plumbing in the kitchen and bathtub keeps backing up and The landlord has had the plumbers out seven times and still cannot fix the problem. The plumbers told us it was bad pipes and the landlord will not spend the money to fix them. So I cannot use my washer or dryer and when I take a shower I have to stand in the water that backs up. Is that grounds to be able to break my lease?

The air conditioning in my house went out. I am currently renting. We notified our property management and they sent someone out the next day. The ac company said they cant fix it for a week. Our property management told us to find somewhere else to stay. Is there a law that they have to pay for us to stay in a hotel? And is there a law stating that we can deduct money from rent from each day that we are not staying in the house? And if so then how much? Thank you.

My child was born in California, but now we live in Arizona. My wife and I are in agreement on changing her name. My question is that, can I go through the Arizona courts to change her name. Or do I have to file all the paperwork through California courts.
