  • My wife and I just moved in to an apartment Siera Vista less than a week ago. before this we were homeless for about two years. We are both disabled. The office informed my wife that the application put fourth was denied do to her criminal history. and that we must leave now! My ewife has never been arrestested in her life and has no criminal history, not even a misdemenor! The office refuses to let us view their claim. Can you please assist us A.S.A.P ? We have a registered service dog of 11 years, my wife is a has cancer and is a retired nurse of 25 years, and I am a disabled veteran. Can
  • I am a landlord and have a question about my legal rights to be notified by the power company (SSVEC) before they shut off service because the Tennant did not pay their electric bill. The signed rental contract gives permission to the power company to notify me of a pending shut off. They have this agreement on file. It gets below freezing here and this puts our units at risk of having frozen or bursting water lines. Also the smoke detectors are disabled. I never want the utilities turned off on the apartments because of this. They just shut off the power for 10 days before I'm aware.

  • In june or july our gas was shut off due to non-payment. when a technician came to turn services back on he left a notice stating the waterheater was in unsafe condition and the light had not been lit. After consulting with Southwest gas, we were told NOT to light it ourselves under any circumstances. When we informed our landlord of this (via text message) he bombarded both my husband and I with vulgarity, and told us he wasn't fixing anything. In fact, he accused us of breaking it.   • Is it legal for a landlord to put into our lease a statement that says "If for any reason during the duration of this lease agreement the relationship between Lessor and Lessee is soured, Landlord reserves the right to serve a 30 day written notice to vacate." Isn't this unconscionable? And shouldn't any ability to break a contract be fair to both parties?
