QUESTIONS

  • If there have been multiple vehicle break-ins and I am moving because I don't feel safe, can I leave without penalty? My lease asks for a 60 day notice, this just happened no way for me to give a notice. Also my lease is up September 9. I read that it's AZ state law, that if a tenant feels unsafe they may leave. I am moving because I literally can't sleep because my car was broken into and I have a small child.

  • I have lived in Arizona since 2013 which was the last time my son saw his father. His father lives in Mexico and I have tried to get ahold of him but have not been able. My son is 8 and does not know him or who he is. How can I go about getting full custody or being able to make all the decisions for my son. Since my husband is military we well be moving out of state and I need to get him a u.s passport since I have already became a citizen and I need to be able to take my child over seas.
  • I recently had to go to court over child support/arrears. I was ordered to pay more than i can afford and I'm a 100% disabled medical veteran who only receives that money alone. The court told me that I would have to send in the money and they would not be able to take it from me. I have only 3 months left until my child turns 18 and the child support turns into only arrears. I am willing to pay something, but i cannot afford what they told me to. I need all the information for my state laws that can either help me in the best possible solution. i have read where some never pay after disability.
  • How does Family Medical Leave relate to time off for a work-related injury when the employee is receiving workers compensation?
  • Hello: My mother died recenty. As her son am I obligated to pay her outstand bills? The day she passed a bill arrived from the emergency service that took to the hospital. Also she received a bill for medical expenses from her stay in the critical care unit at the hospital where she died. There are other bills that have been received. I just need to know if legally these have to be paid. Thank you for your help. Rick
  • I have an almost 6-year-old son; never married; son's father is on his birth certificate and I receive child support, but no written custody order or anything else. (Does that mean paternity has been established, but I by default have legal custody?) Son's father moved out of state a few years ago; we maintain regular contact and do visits when we're able. I would like to move out of state and potentially out of the country for my career.
  • I was hired to work 8:30am to 5pm at a daycare and when i get there if there is not enough kids they will make me wait to start my shift until there are enough kids or work to do, the hours i am waiting are not being paid. I have also got in trouble for leaving the building if i am told i cant start yet. They want me to sit there and wait unpaid for sometimes up to 3 hours. I have brought this up to my manager but i feel they are taking advantage of my age because i am only 19
